About Dr. Lou
Dr. Dianne Lou is a native Texan and spent most of her childhood in the suburbs of Houston. She is an alumnus of San Marcos Baptist Academy in San Marcos, Texas where she graduated in the top 10% of her class at the age of 16. She earned a direct admission spot to a 7 year Pharm.D. program at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ but ultimately decided to pursue a medical degree instead. She returned home and pursued an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Houston, graduating summa cum laude and with Honors in Major. She then received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. To further her training and career, Dr. Lou traveled to the prestigious Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN where she completed an Anesthesiology residency with an emphasis on research. She remained on staff as an attending Anesthesiologist for an additional year while completing her research project focused on cancer-related pain. She returned to her final year of training in the highly competitive Interventional Pain Fellowship program at Vanderbilt. Dr. Lou is a board-certified Anesthesiologist and board-certified in Pain Medicine.
Dr. Lou brings an expansive array of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Pain Medicine. She has had the privilege of training under mentors who have also trained at elite institutions such as Vanderbilt University, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Wake Forest University, University of Texas, and Memorial Sloan Kettering/Cornell.
She is committed to providing the highest quality of care to her patients by tailoring a unique treatment plan for each of her patients and offering the latest in interventional procedures to the San Antonio community. Outside of work, you can find her spending time with her husband and children looking for the next greatest adventure. She is excited to be back in Texas, surrounded by HEB, good food, and family!

- Graduated from San Marcos Baptist Academy in the top 10% of her class at the age of 16.
